# About accounts

How to group different income sources on Nexudus.

### About accounts in Nexudus

Accounts are groups of records that list all the items that are similar to each other. You can group the different income sources in your space. For example, you could have an account for *flexible* [plans](/platform/day-to-day/inventory/managing-plans.md), another for *permanent* [desks](/platform/day-to-day/inventory/floor-plans-offices-and-desks.md) or [passes](broken://pages/-LcxGBuPkgWLMQ9YcWyH), and so on. You can use accounts to generate more accurate reports available on your Nexudus user account or if you want to export data to external accounting software. Nexudus uses the account code that you configure to identify the records in the external system.
