Custom fields

How to use custom fields on customer profiles.

In Nexudus, the information that you can record on member and contact profiles is quite extensive. However, there are times when this information is not enough to cover specific details that you want to have in your database. For example, there is no standard field for eye colour, assuming that you wanted to record this. You can add up to ten custom fields, which can be displayed on the space sign-up form, on the directory or on the member or contact's profile. You can also use the Yes/No and Options menu custom fields to allow the users of your spaces website to filter the member directory (see the Directory option in the table below).

To add a custom field

  1. In the side menu, click CRM, then click Custom Fields.

  2. Click Add custom field.

  3. Complete the required fields (see the table below for a description of each custom field option).

  4. Click Save.

Option

Description

Name

Enter a name for the custom field. Customers will see this field if you make it part of their profile

Location

If you manage more than one space from your Nexudus account, select from the drop-down list the location of the space that is going to use the custom field

Record type

Custom fields are used for members and contacts

Field type

Select a field type from the drop-down menu. This determines what data can be entered in the field. For example, if you want the field to store dates of birth, select the date field. The options available are:

  • Text (single line): lets you include one line of text as a response to a custom field

  • Text (multiple lines): lets you include several lines of text as a response

  • Yes/No: lets you store a Yes-No response

  • Options menu: lets you include multiple options for users to choose from. Use commas (,) to separate the options. By default, users will be able to choose one option from the list, but you can let users choose more than one of the options by enabling Allow Multiple Selection

  • Date: select this field to allow users to specify a date using a calendar

  • Options menu: Include multiple options for users to choose from. Use commas (,) to separate each option. You can let users choose more than one of the options by enabling Allow Multiple Selection

  • Number (integer): This option lets you include a whole number as a custom field

  • Number (decimal): This option allows users to specify a decimal number

Place field in tab

This option determines where the custom field will be displayed on the member or contact's account on the dashboard. Choose the area where you want it to be displayed from the drop-down menu.

Display order

This field sets the order that the custom fields are displayed on the space website. Lower values (0) appear at the top of the list

Profile & sign-up forms

In this section you can choose where the custom fields will appear on the space website. You can select one or more of these options:

  • Make this field required

  • Display in sign up form

  • Display in profile form

  • Display in tour form

Directory

This section lets you show the custom field in the directory integrated on the space website on your Nexudus account. You can select one or both of these options:

  • Display the content of this field in the profile of the customer in the directory

  • Allow other users to search the member and company directory by this field. When you select this option a box is displayed that allows you to add a directory search name

To edit a custom field

  1. In the side menu, click CRM, then click Custom Fields.

  2. In the list of custom fields, click the name of the one to edit.

  3. Make the necessary changes (see the table above).

  4. Click Save changes.

To delete a custom field

There is also a Delete button at the bottom of the custom field editing page.

  1. In the side menu, click CRM, then click Custom Fields.

  2. Click Delete.
