In the side menu, click Inventory, then click Booking Resources.
Click the icon of the resource whose rules you want to add or edit.
Under the resource name, click Rules. You will be see a list of selectable or definable rules, which are described below.
Select or clear rules, and define or edit values as appropriate.
Click Save changes.
You can ask Monika how to manage requests and cancellations, how to adjust duration and capacity or how to combine resources.
Section | Description |
Requests and cancellations | In this section, you can control when bookings are made, changed or cancelled. For example, you can prevent a booking from being made too far in advance. You can also require bookings to be confirmed by an administrator or restrict booking to selected types of members. All of the settings can be overriden by an administator when making a booking on behalf of a customer. |
Duration | In this section, you can set a minimum and maximum duration, a fixed duration, and define specific times of the day when a resource can be booked. |
Capacity | This rule can be applied either to more than one instance of a particular resource or a single resource as follows: Simultaneous booking: If you have more than one instance of a particular resource you can define the number of instances and allow the available resources to be booked simultaneously by more than one customer. Resource capacity: If the resource, for example a room, can accommodate a certain number of people comfortably, you can define the number of people. |
Combined resources | Select one or more resources here to block those resources when this one is booked. For example, you may have two meeting rooms A and B, which can be combined to make a large meeting room A+B. In this example you would have three resources: A, B and A+B. In the Combined Resources rule of resource A+B you would set A and B to be locked when A+B was booked. |
No-return policies | These rules allow you to control how close to each other bookings can be made. For example, you may want to leave a gap between bookings of a resource so your team can clean and get the resource ready for the next booking. |
Available days and times | You can make a resource available at specific hours and days of the week. A user will not be able to book the resource on unspecified hours or days. |
